Jordan studied music performance with a focus in Jazz studies at MTSU where he received education in playing a multitude of different styles and ensembles. He studied privately with the applied faculty at the university on all of his woodwinds as Jordan strived to play each instrument equally well. While he is now finished with school, Jordan is still hungry for knowledge and regularly takes lessons with the many phenomenal musicians that populate music city and abroad. In addition to teaching at Prescott South Middle School, he is teaching woodwinds at Chewning School of Music and Smyrna HS. Jordan’s teaching philosophy is to nurture an authentic love of music through the methodical and inspired study of an instrument. Jordan’s students study and improve many aspects of their musicianship such as finger technique, tone production, Composition, arranging, improvisation, and musicality. Many of his students have been selected for honors such as: Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts, Mid-State, All-State, and the Interlochen Summer Arts Academy. |
